Royal Canin Renal Veterinary Diet (RF 16) is a nutritious formulation intended for the well-being of canines going through temporary or chronic renal disorders. The diet also helps in reducing the formation of oxalate stones in the kidneys by offering urine alkalising substances, and lowering the amounts of calcium and vitamin D in the diet. If the kidneys are working inadequately, their ability to process phosphorus also gets affected. The renal dry dog food has low level of phosphorus to support the renal functioning. Flavonols (a type of green tea polyphenol) promotes renal perfusion and also slows down the oxidative process. An increased level of Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) helps to restrict the declining rate of glomerular filtration. A balanced digestive health is sought with the inclusion of fructo-oligo-saccharides (FOS) and a specific combination of minerals. Fight against the free radicals is supported with the addition of a high level of antioxidants.
