Every dog owner teaches basic commands to his or her dog which are important for communicating with your pet. Teaching your dog some cool tricks will add excitement to your relation and make it healthy. You can gain the appreciation and love of your dog by teaching him new tricks and cool things. Find below cool things which you can teach your dog:

High Five: Teaching your dog high five is really easy. All you need to do is to sit in front of him and offer him treat which is slightly out of his reach. Say the command “high-five” when he tries to catch the treat and tap his paw. Soon after tapping on the paw, give him the treat and appreciate him for the successful attempt.

Dance: Small dogs can easily learn the skill of dancing. To start it, hold a treat over the head of your dog and say commands such as “up” or “dance” whenever he tries to catch the treat. Revolve the treat around his head so that he spins to get the treat. Reward with a treat for every successful attempt. It will require more patience if you are teaching how to dance to your large dog.

Salute: Teaching your dog how to salute is one of the coolest things to teach him. Sit in front of your dog and stick a tape just above the eyes of your dog. Your dog will try to remove it. Whenever he successfully removes, reward him with a treat. Say the command as he tries to remove the tape. Soon he will develop the habit of saluting you whenever he will hear the command.

Kiss: Licking face common for every dog. Teaching a dog how to kiss will require some efforts. To start it, hold a treat in your hand and say command. Whenever the dog tries to catch the treat, offer your cheek and wait till he touches your cheek with his nose. After doing so, offer him the treat before he starts licking your cheek. Slowly, train him to kiss other family members and other dogs as well.

To play football: Football learning skills of dogs will vary from dog to dog. Dogs of some breeds may find it easy to learn to dribble the ball while some will take time to learn the skills. To start, choose a ball which your dog can easily pick up and carry. Take your dog to an open space and don’t forget to take some treats with you so that you can reward your dg whenever he plays good. It will take some time, but he will soon start dribbling the ball when you encourage him to play.

Open/close a door: For this, you have to tie a cloth to the door and tell your dog to pull it. Every time, use a command like ‘open’ to make him tug the cloth to open the door. Reward him with some treats whenever he successfully opens/closes a door. You can also use a tug toy instead of cloth to tie to the door.
