Teacup Chihuahuas are lively, beautiful and tenacious. They are so small that they can easily sit on a teacup and hence the name teacup Chihuahua.
The Chihuahua is one of the oldest and smallest known dog breeds. Their engaging temperament, cuteness and affectionate nature make them popular pets especially for urban or apartment life. The “Teacup” Chihuahua is not an official dog breed. Teacups are smaller-than-average Chihuahuas, and that is why they are called Teacup, Pocket or Miniature Chihuahua .
The only characteristic that makes a Teacup Chihuahua different from other Chihuahuas is its size. A “big” Chihuahua weighs not more than 6 pounds, but there is no minimum weight that applies, and teacups usually weigh in at 3 pounds or even less than that.
